Zondervan lawsuit filer linked to Obama campaign

The plot thickens related to the homosexual activist who is suing Zondervan for $60M because the word “homosexual” appears in its Bible translations.  Barack Obama’s official campaign website has posted Bradley Fowler’s explanation of why he is suing Zondervan under the heading, “Overcoming Religious Injustice Is Not As Easy As the Bible Says.”

Is the Obama campaign behind suing a religious publisher because it’s translation of the Bible is deemed politically incorrect?

Homosexual files $60M lawsuit against Zondervan

WOOD TV in Grand Rapids reports that Bradley Fowler is claiming 20 years of emotional distress because his family’s pastor used  a translation of the Bible published by Zondervan which uses the word “homosexual” in its translation of 1 Corinthians 6:9.  As a result Bradley claims his family considered him a sinner and he suffered.

Zondervan issued a statement saying that it doesn’t translate the Bible, it only publishes the Bible. The translations are determined by a committee of qualified scholars.

The suit was filed on Tuesday, July 7 in federal court in Detroit. Will a federal court actually go so far as to get involved in what words can be used in the translation of a sacred text?
