Fox2 Detroit aired a “man on the street” report during its Friday, January 2 broadcast at 6:15 pm. Reporter Brad Edwards’ live report from the Dearborn City Hall on what he called “a peaceful protest” by local Palestinians of the Israeli air strikes in Gaza was PROPAGANDA for Hamas.

Edwards interviewed a woman who claims she has relatives “who are not Hamas but Palestinians,” who have been targeted by the Israeli Defense Forces. Her statements were not verified nor substantiated. To top it off, Edwards then tells the woman Barack Obama will soon be sworn in and that should give her hope!

Further, he opens his report by repeating casualty statistics given by the anti-Israeli speaker at the rally. Again, no verification and no opposing viewpoint presented. The viewers are left with the impression that the Israeli Defense Forces are intentionally targeting civilians.

Where is the evidence to support such radical and unsubstantiated claims? Where is the balance in reporting at Fox2 Detroit?
