Barack Obama spoke last Tuesday at Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s annual public affairs conference. His remarks on sex education for kindergarteners are garnering the lion’s share of attention in the media. But in his response to the same question on sex education, he made it clear he doesn’t trust the American people to make right choices:
The American people are a decent people. Now they get confused sometimes. They listen to the wrong talk radio shows; watch the wrong TV networks. But they’re basically decent, they’re basically sound. They’re making decisions, trying to figure out what’s best for our children. (Listen here)
Does anyone else think that comment is rather condescending? In plainer words, Barack wants you to know that while he respects you as a basically decent person, he doesn’t trust you to make the right decisions for our children. Now wait just a minute. I thought I was making decisions for my children. When exactly did your children and my children become our children?
By what critera is Obama concluding that the American people are listening to the wrong talk radio shows and watching the wrong TV networks? Once again a liberal gives evidence that liberals are all in favor of choice so long as they control the choices. Like ensuring that our children won’t hear about abstinence as a choice, only Planned Parenthood’s extreme agenda for sexualizing the youngest of our citizens. If liberals don’t trust you to choose wisely when it comes to the dial on your radio, do you really think they’re going to trust you to communicate their truth about sex to your children…um, I mean our children?

At age 5 I barely had my aim in the toilet down, let alone what in the world sex was.
As to your question Jeff, its a toss up for me. I still vote for Jesus.
Age appropriate, I don’t want the government determining that 5 years old is the proper age for this. I heard a lady on FoxNews last night(My wife watches it, I scream at it) but she was from the liberal camp and said this is stuff like improper touching and so forth. This is something that all parents should be doing with their kids long before kindergarden. I think I heard Obama hiss Paul Edwards when he mentioned ppl listening to too much radio. HAHA
I have a question for Paul and Don since we seem to be the main folk on this blog, someone is going to run from the Dems who would you rather have Obama, Clinton or Edwards?
Basically, I’m dumbfounded.
In response to Obama’s sex ed to 5 year olds comments, Mitt Romney concluded; no sex education was appropriate for a 5 year old, as was reported this morning on Fox and Friends, one of those “wrong” programs.
Wrong for whom? Mr. Obama?
