I’ve said it before, Its exciting to be a witness to God’s judgment upon a nation.

For those of us that still hold to a pre-trib catching away, this is exciting. “Inside the Revolution”, by Joel Rosenberg is a great read that hits a great deal of what appears to be going on in the Middle East. FYI, I’m not a replacement boy either. That makes all these events even more exciting. And by the way, for those of you pre-foundational fellas, what is all the concern?

Also; What do you think of the “intercession” Christ made on the cross of, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”? Was he making intercession for the lost, or were all of those participants in this ordeal already regenerated? To quote Sturgis, “thats a tough one, man”!
I remember in the early 70’s going with my cousin Joanne to meet the Osmonds. Every time one of them would smile at her she would almost pass out. For some reason whenever I see Chris Matthews talk about Obama, this memory crosses my mind. I wonder why…

All of the evidence you’ll ever need comes in the form of the media protecting president Obama from the tougher and more controversial issues. This did not occur with president Bush. It’s a love fest with Obama, plain and simple. Some government “watch dog” the media has morphed into…the media is supposed to hold the government’s feet to the fire – not give it a foot massage. A great disservice is being done to the public while the news media abandones its post.
I agree this is a bit of a stretch. I wanted to get it and post it on facebook but when i saw it it doesn’t look that bad to me. Looks to me like they both just kinda nod.

But I’ll give you a freebie that even I laughed at. A headline on Yahoo news today “Can Obama win hearts and minds of the Muslim world?” That’s like the political version of Tiger Beat, right there.
Although I think there is a harshness in Conservative circles around Obama, I do agree that the media is infatuated (although the clip, again, weaksauce). It’s not a political thing, either. It’s a weird racial thing, like “ooh, here’s a novelty…a black President! And look, he’s not listening to rap music or making gang signs…how glamorous!” The truth is that the Obamas have probably the same exact lifestyle as any other politicos…they’re intelligent people and do things intellectuals do like go to Broadway shows, etc. But the racial angle really, really has a odd twist to it…I think it’s borderline patronizing to the President and treats black people unfair (i.e. “look! They’re just like us!”). I think Obama’s win was a great moment in American history in terms of racial unity…but the thing that MAKES it advancement is that we see equality and not one person being better or different based on the color of their skin. To say “oh, wonderful equality! We’re all the same” and then follow it up with “Let’s see what a BLACK president does” is really just racism disguised as interest. Again, I don’t think it’s political, either…the media and most cultural people, despite what they thought about Clinton’s policies, pretty much portrayed him as a redneck.
I’m, again, not an Obama apologist…I approve of the job he’s doing for the most part, but there are some areas where I’ve had a bit of “buyer’s remorse”–the plane in New York, the whole auto industry fiasco. But it’s unfair for him for the media to turn him into their classy minstrel show.
They nod their heads at the exact same angle and Brian turns around and walks away. Obama averts his eyes when he nods, as well.
I don’t really care much for Obama, but I think you’re just making stuff up.
Obama NODs back. He does not “bow” back. Observe anyone in the presence of royalty and the mannerisms used by Williams in this clip are precisely and exactly the same, including averting the eyes and walking backwards away from the royal.
No one is “scrutinizing” the president here, Chris. We are scrutinizing an infatuated media, clearly demonstrated by this clip.
And Joel, you’re grounded.
Nice try.
The only time he avoids eye contact is when he bows–because you can’t bow and look someone in the eye at the same time. And Joel is right; Obama bows back.
Of course, had Williams not bowed and looked President Bush in the eye, the post likely would have been “Brian Williams is disrespectful to the President” and painted it as the media’s blatent hatred of the President. It’s interesting to watch how Conservatives are doing the EXACT same things they criticized liberals for doing during the Bush administration (and yes, the Liberals are being just as partisian and petty as the Conservatives are). It’s not about what’s best for the country anymore; it’s about “what’s best for my side.”
Funny story–when I raised questions about very Biblical concerns I had about Bush’s position on torture, I was told “we don’t question our President. We support him and don’t say negative things about those God has put into power.” Yet Sunday, my pastor got up and compared Barack Obama to Hitler because he’s a socialist (nice try–Hitler was a Nazi, not simply a socialist and Obama’s perceived socialism is siimply a response to capitalism run amock) and involved in the genocide of millions of babies (while abortion is genocide, I think it’s actually the mothers choosing to have the abortions that hold the blood on their hands).
And I keep harping about this, but all I get are loud cries of OBAMAKILLSBABIES instead of actual dialogue or thoughtful dialogue where people admit to meeting in the middle. Politics have become an idol in America.
Okay, that went much longer than I thought. BUt every time I turn around I see sore loser Republicans scrutinizing everything the President does…which is EXACTLY what they complained about liberals doing after Al Gore lost the election. Politics = hypocrisy.
That’s a bit (read: a huge) of a stretch. I do that to anybody who shakes my hand. And Obama “bow’s” back. So… no.
