Liveblogging Saddleback Forum: The Audience is in it!
Has anyone noticed that the audience has really come to life since McCain sat down? Numerous interruptions for applause which Obama did not receive.
Liveblogging Saddleback: Three Wise Men
McCain actually named real people in the real world (General David Patraeus, Former Ebay CEO Meg Whitman, and Congressman John Lewis). Obama named political colleagues (Sam Nunn, Ted Kennedy!), and his wife and grandmother. I guess he doesn’t believe he has the women’s vote in the bag after all.
Liveblogging Saddleback Forum: McCain’s Moral Failure
McCain actually cites a real life moral failure in responding to the question! Did Obama?
UPDATE: Obama cited “drug and alcohol use as a teenager.” Who among us isn’t guilty of youthful indiscretions? On the other hand, McCain faced down one issue evangelicals find problematic with McCain: his adultery and divorce. He did so candidly.

Liveblogging Saddleback Forum: Obama’s bad night out
Barack Obama failed to answer questions candidly and directly. When asked, “What in this country is worth dying for?” his response was his grandfather was buried in a military cemetary in Hawaii??
When asked at what point a baby in the womb should be given human rights he obfiscated.
This is Obama’s bad night out. He did nothing to win over conservative evangelicals and he did nothing to jeopardize the hold he already has on his base. If Obama isn’t willing to takes risks in this kind of forum, how will he take the kind of risks every leader must take if he occupies the Oval Office?
