On what basis can we confidently assert that we are truly saved, that is, among the elect? Those of us who hold to a reformed view of sotieriology often hear the question phrased this way: If you believe that God chooses who will be saved, and that nothing man does either contributes or diminishes his salvation, how can anyone then be assured that they are saved?
