At Comerica Park on Saturday, August 3, 2024 Paul was eyewitness to one of the most moving performances of the National Anthem ever at a baseball game.

Midland native Joe Everson sang the anthem WHILE he painted. It was the surprise at the end that had the crowd cheering like they had just witnessed a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 9th.
