Liberals always run on a platform that abuses Jesus’ admonition to care for “the least of these” while ignoring the least of the the least of these: defenseless babies in the wombs of their own mothers.
In keeping with his radical liberal identity, Obama has announced he intends to use his executive authority as president to mandate the use of YOUR tax dollars to pay for abortions at military hospitals, as well as to release YOUR tax dollars to destroy human life in embyronic form in the insanse assertion Christopher Reeve could be raised from the dead, er, uh, I mean, that IF Christopher Reeve were still alive that destroying HUNDREDS of human lives POTENTIALLY could make him walk again.
Shame on every professed follower of Jesus Christ who voted for Barack Obama. I pray the cry of the slaughter of the innocents resonates in your ears until you are driven mad. A holy and righteous Judge will vindicate the lives of these children in the rightful exercise of his wrath on spiritual pretenders who value the “sensitive, fragile lands in Utah” above the fearfully and wonderfully made children who are torn asunder by human hands as they are being knit together by the hands of their Creator.

I keep seeing this type of statement, as if all our churches are one issue churches??? If the church you have chosen to attend, doesn’t create meaningful relationships…the members do not give of their time and money to help those in need…the joy of LIFE and the power of RESTORATION isn’t proclaimed….why are you going there??? Maybe you need to find another church. If they “all” are this type…maybe you need to broaden the field you are picking from. I have been a Christian for 46 years…I have never had to settle for going to a church where the Gospel is not preached nor life and restoration not proclaimed.

You always challenge me and I love it. I share my faith all the time, it is a natural part of my life and everything I do. As you know I have been on facebook quite a bit, I am reconnecting with a lot of old acquaintances and sharing with them how much different than I was in High school and why(I was a head banging stoner)? The second part of your question is not something I focus on and I think it is because of a difference in theological positions. Also, one more thing, I have been a staunch Ron Paul supporter for a while now, as I read further and look deeper into him, there is much that I reject. I like his stance on Freedom and Military action, I do not agree with this free market phylosophies though. BTW I have his recent book in audio form and will start that very soon. I have to read Paul Krugman’s Conscience of a Liberal first. 😉
By the way, just because overturning Roe vs. Wade would just send it back to the states, doesn’t mean we should not pursue that option. As a Ron Paul supporter, this should be apparent. (10th Amendment)

I understand you last comment, so with that in mind,I am going to ask you a rhetorical question. When was the last time you shared your faith? Do you care enough for a person to warn him about the wrath of God on the children of disobedience? (read Ephesian 5)
The most important thing we need to be about is reaching the lost with the Gospel because only God Himself change a heart, and if He does one at a time, eventually, HE will change the world for His glory (and we already have a glimpse of the way He will do it in the scriptures).
We must always pray for our leaders because even the worst leader in the world is better than anarchy. Let’s all pray to that God will guide our leaders hearts and lead them to do the right thing. But in the meantime, preach the Gospel to every creature! (Mark 16:15)

I will say it again, Roe V Wade will do nothing but put it in the hands of the states. Abortion will NEVER go away in the east and west coast. Abortion is tragic but the “solution” of outlawing it is misguided, and I would argue unbiblical. Stop putting large amounts of money to get political allies in office and be nonpartisan and find allies on both sides of the isle to help improve the situation for those most likely to get abortions. Do you really think that most abortions are a simply birth control? I don’t think so, there is a direct corrilation between wages and abortion rates. Let’s fight the issues surrounding abortion, let’s stop isolating prolife democrats and calling them sinners for looking at the depth and breadth of all the issues, and try bring Christ back into society and make a real difference instead of being devisive and legislators of morality.
But as Jeff pointed out, my question isn’t about whether abortion is bad. I’m a Pro-Life Democrat. But I don’t believe that legislation is necessarilly the answer. I believe we will actually do more good if, instead of simply saying “it’s not about choice” we actually realize that, right now, choice is the law of the land and we take the right steps to change those choices.
What if American Churches began to sponsor programs to adopt babies whose parents would otherwise abort them? What if, instead of simply telling people “abortion is murder,” churches strengthened their support of single mothers in their congregations, forgiving them of the sin of premarital sex but loving them, counseling them and supporting them. What if the government actually increased support to single mothers, removed many of the legal entaglements for abortion, assisted the mothers in getting better education and job placement and actually set up a system to care for children after birth instead? What if all the people who hold up picket signs along the road instead dedicated the time they spend in protest to befriending and counseling pregnant mothers?
The Church wants to take the easy route of legislation. But banning abortion may save lives but it doesn’t save souls. There is no moral equivalency between abortion and the Iraq war (or any war). No one is targeting children in the Iraq war. No one is targeting civilians. Abortion TARGETS innocent life and INTENTIONALLY takes it. War TARGETS agressors and seeks to remove them for the security of the communty.
Yes – people die in war. To suggest,however, that a woman taking the life of her unborn child is the same as death in the defense of one’s nation is just not a rational argument.

What about all the innocent little children in Iraq who have been effected by war? What about the least of those? What about all the little children who will not ever see their fathers or mothers because they were killed in action? the least of those? You have been a hawk for this war for as long as I have listened to you and you seem to discount the effect it has had on the “least of these”.
While ALL possibility lies in the hands of God, it surely is questionable for a Christian to follow after death or darkness in any form. As Christians we should follow hard after the heart of the Father…He always calls choose LIFE!
I also find it difficult to believe one who has taken the Hippocratic Oath could easily put it aside and perform abortion short of a life or death situation.

A person CANNOT be a follower of Jesus Christ and support abortion. I know we live in an age where “living in the grey areas” is chic. There is no gray area here. Jesus made it clear. You harm one of these least of these little ones and it would be better for you to have a millstone hung around your neck and be plunged into the sea. Jesus takes human life very seriously. To claim to be one of his followers and support those who support harming children is IMPOSSIBLE.
The question Chris brings up is, Is the political method of fighting abortion the only way to fight it? I actually have come to the conclusion that outlawing it is hurtful to the cause of christianity, caring for the least of these is the way God’s Kingdom will come to earth. Abortion is awful, it is tragic, but think about all the abortions that would have been thwarted if we refocused our energies to being a solution to the issues that cause abortion and not being a political tool. The more I think about the blood that has been shed in the name of “outlawing” abortion the more upset I get at those who push this agenda. Think about it
Chris, I voted using the Right to Live ballot, believe me, there were only 3 Dems I could vote for, and all local. They are the only Dems that got my vote. I agree with Pauls statements, but he can’t question his flock until he gets rid of his churchs 503c status.
Paul, you’re a pastor. Are you willing to Church Discipline members of your congregation who voted for Obama? Do you consider them backslidden members of the flock? Did you question your elders on who they were voting for? Because all you’re doing right now is driving a wedge between Brothers and Sisters in Christ. A person can be a follower of Christ and be a Republican, Democrat, even a Socialist. What you’re arguing is bordering on legalism.
The fact is, it is possible to be a Democrat and be Pro-Life. I believe abortion is wrong. I simply believe there are other ways to change it. We need to be showing love to single mothers, caring for them and being willing to adopt unwanted children. Because simply outlawing abortion does nothing for the Body of Christ, but changing hearts can save lives and bring God the glory.
Very well said Paul. The hypocrisy of decrying the 4,000+ brave soldiers who have died in Iraq while ignoring the 3,000+ children who are murdered EACH DAY via abortion is beyond reason.
