I’m watching Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Tom Brokaw doing the play-by-play for the Democrats and its just pathetic. Luke Russert, the son of the late Tim Russert, is doing floor reports. It’s obvious he’s out of his element and has been thrown into the fray intentionally to fill the “Russert Gap,” with Tom Brokaw going so far as to suggest that by the end of the convention Luke will have a white board that says, “Young Voters, Young Voters, Young Voters.” Can’t they let their colleague rest in peace?
Demonstrating how out of touch Chris Matthews is, he just asked Bill Maher about McCain having Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty on his short list to be his running mate, and what chances would that ticket have with such an odd sounding name. Bill Maher’s response was reasonable: “Well, I guess you’d have to ask BARACK OBAMA.” Matthews laughed as if it had never crossed his mind that Barack Obama was an odd sounding name.
Bob, if you give up your day job…you’d make a great strait guy for stand up…*; )…that’s a winky…
“The middle of the road is my private cul-de-sac…” – The Pretenders
Actually, I like to see myself as hovering OVER the road… 😉
Just be careful Bro. Those who travel down the middle of the road tend to be roadkill! HA! And we’d miss ya!
Thanks Greg, but I didn’t mean that I was “the enemy” – I was referring more to Obama and “the left” in general. As I do not align myself with the left (nor with the right), I’m either not the enemy because “he that is not against us is for us” or I am indeed the enemy because “he that is not with us is against us”. 😉
Hey b/Bo,
You’re not the enemy! If two people completely agree on everything, one is totally unnecessary! I appreciate your thought and comments because they keep me sharp and focused on what is important, even if we may not agree. Keep them coming, Brother!
Sorry the humor is lost on you. Explaining it won’t make it funny to you, but here goes anyway:
You, a very nice and conservative person, were saying something complimentary about “the enemy” on this blog site. Me, I get it and I actually agree with what you said. But hearkening back to Paul’s posts on how Obama hates America and Paul’s reaction to those who objected to that characterization, I felt that he implied that they must hate America, too, which I find absurd. Perhaps he didn’t really go that far, but that’s the basis for the joke.
Hopefully you get it now. If not, please treat it like Emily Litella…. (“nevermind”).
Why would you use my name if you were talking to Paul?…I just don’t get it…
Nancy – the winky, the winky – that was the dead give-away I was totally joking… I think it’s absurd to say that you (or Obama for that matter) hate America. It was more of a smiling jab at Paul than you.
b/Bo…Now that’s just inciteful….*: (
Nancy, you must HATE America then. 😉
The best part of the whole night was the family interaction with the girls at the end…*: ) They really love their daddy. At least the Obamas seem to have gotten that part right.
Apparently you and Ed Rendell finally agree on something Paul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfuroXnoLhM
Is that why Lucy is in the sky with diamonds? Maybe I’ll know when I’m sixty-four!

Paul, you really are a masochist. I can only take about 2 seconds of MSLSD (as Mark Levin calls it!)
C’mon Paul. Mathews is just a bit distracted by the “tingle going up [his] leg”. Give him a break.
