J. D. Hall Defends Reformation Charlotte’s Post Which Misquotes Jarrid Wilson on ‘Gay Christians’
The audio of my conversation with J. D. Hall of Pulpit and Pen is below in two parts, in which he defends Reformation Charlotte and Jeff Maples’ doubling down on Jarrid Wilson after his suicide. The pertinent links to the articles being discussed are below the audio:
Reformation Charlotte doubles down on Jarrid Wilson after his suicide:
Read what Jarrid Wilson ACTUALLY wrote:
- Gay, Straight, or Purple
- Jarrid never used the phrase “Gay Christians” in his piece, as Reformation Charlotte claims in its headline: “I know a handful of people who are gay, go to church, and in fact show the presence of Jesus’ love more than most self-proclaimed “straight” Christians do. (Let that sink in)”
- Jarrid’s post was a response to the hate-filled tactics of Westboro Baptist Church and NOT an endorsement of the gay lifestyle.
- Jarrid clearly called Christians to not “stray from biblical truth” on the issue of homosexuality, but at the same time to show “the LOVE and GRACE of Jesus.”
- “Regardless, my point of writing this is to hopefully WAKE UP our generation, and encourage them to start showing the LOVE and GRACE of Jesus (This doesn’t mean that you stray from biblical truth). Our world is already filled with so much destruction and hate, and the last thing Jesus wanted when dying for us was us to be part of it.”
