Michigan Congressman Pete Hoekstra on Obama

“No matter how eloquent and beautiful Barack Obama’s words are, the ugly truth lies in his meager record. Obama gave a speech that was filled with empty promises and once again, proved he would do or say anything to advance his personal and political ambitions. It is unbelievable to hear Barack Obama say he will take care of our veterans when he voted to cut off funds for our troops fighting in the field.  Michiganders will see Obama for the inexperienced candidate he is between now and November. The facts remain the same after the party is over: he is against drilling, against an “all of the above” energy plan and voted for tax increases on people making as little as $42,000 a year.”

Krauthammer on FOX

Charles Krauthammer says Obama came down from the mountain tonight, realizing celebrity wears thin, and with his speech tonight has painted himself as a “generic Democrat,” in order to align himself with the traditional positions of his party.

Gore is a generic Democrat. Kerry is a generic Democrat. Generic Democrats don’t win the presidency.
