Dr. Zacharias will be present at an interdenominational prayer gathering in Washington, DC today where he will conclude <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ndptf.org\/story\/Index.cfm?Entity=9&amp;Department=9&amp;Dept_Order=1&amp;This_TopicOrder=19&amp;This_SubtopicOrder=2#5\" target=\"_blank\">his written prayer<\/a>, not &#8220;In Jesus&#8217; Name,&#8221; but rather &#8220;In God&#8217;s Holy Name.&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/libertyblogs.blogspot.com\/2008\/04\/how-long-will-america-have-prayer.html\" target=\"_blank\">At least one evangelical group <\/a>suggests that by not mentioning the name of Jesus Dr. Zacharias is compromising the gospel and violating the explicitly Christian orientation of the National Day of Prayer intended by the Founders&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Zacharias\u2019 prayer stands in stark contrast to the <a class=\"LinkText0\" href=\"http:\/\/chaplain.house.gov\/archive\/continental.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color:#473624;\">first prayer of the Continental Congress<\/span><\/a>, which was delivered on September 7, 1774 by Reverend Jacob Duch\u00e9. That distinctly Christian prayer ended with the words: \u201cAll this we ask in the name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son and our Savior.
