  1. We have another “melt down” in the making that is far worse check out this link:

Why are we still importing Chinese goods? What is the FDA thinking? As Christians and Americans, we should demand accountability…while at the same time take solace in the fact that Jesus assured us not to fear….

    Matthew 6:31-32 (New Living Translation)

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

  3. Jeff,

Supposedly this country is divided as approximately 40% conservative, 40% liberal and 20% in the middle. If the solution to fix what is wrong with our country is to come to the middle, why not EVERYONE come to the middle? If the conservatives are the only ones that come to the middle, what obviously happens is that the whole country leans even further to the left.

Politicians and parties aside, what are your core beliefs? How does the way you vote square with those principles? There is no perfect party or candidate. If third party squares with your core beliefs, vote that way. In all that you do, just let your yes be yes, and your no be no. But don’t move to the center just to get along. We should never attack with malice, but we do need to stand on our convictions, and if that includes thoughtful criticism, so be it. And if we must be more venomous, make sure we are specific in our criticism, and that we can back it up with facts and not just feelings. If your values are not worth defending, why do you have them?

  4. Well Greg, we have discussed this many times, I for one don’t see their only sin as “they didn’t have the guts to govern like the conservatives they said they were” far greater than that. I pay close attention to what is going on in politics, more than ever, I watch Fox, MSNBC and CNN and I am disgusted with McCain and Palin, there is no way I will support them, EVER. I think they would be worse than Obama. For the record, I am very concerned with a Democratic congress and Obama white house, I think they will abuse their power as much as they Republicans did from 2000 to 2006. This is why the right wing and social conservatives are damaging to both movements. Social conservatives are so hard core that the rest of the country cannot relate. Thus my call for months now to come to the middle, lets find solutions to the issues and not planting our flag on one side and calling the other evil.

  5. Jeff,

I am glad that you admit this but what really concerns me is whether or not you are more concerned about how you personally have been betrayed or the net effect on the entire country. All that I am asking is keep in mind that on these particular social issues that you raise, same sex marriage and stem cell research and abortion, the Democrats have long been on record as being on the wrong side. And not only that, they are very open about their support for same sex marriage, embryonic stem cell research and abortion. The fact that they have been lying about how the number of abortions have gone down under the Bush administration (down about 9% according to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, formerly of Planned Parenthood, hardly a Neocon organization) is indicative of their agenda. As far as I can see, the Republicans’ main sin is that they didn’t have the guts to govern like the conservatives they said they were. While they do deserve a reprimand, the Democrats deserve to be kicked out and never let back in, unless they actually start doing something that will HELP those they say they stand for. So I am just calling for a little equity against those ACTIVELY opposed to what you care about.

  6. Greg,

I admit, I have a little more venom towards the republican party I feel like I have been betrayed by them, I feel like they are using my faith, somrthing that I cherish dearly to win elections. I the dems don’t haven’t done that too me. So yes, my comments are directed more to the party that I feel used by. As I stated above the facts are the social issues that we fought so hard for are nearly nonexistant when both parties agree on same sex marriage and stem cell research/abortion.

  7. Jeff,

I respect you, Bro, but the Republican animosity is wearing just a little thin. You talk about how both parties are to blame but only mention Republicans specifically. Do you really think it’s both parties or are you just wanting to single out the Republicans? I would just like to see the equity that you claim to have. Are the Democrats culpable in any of these crisis or not? But to be honest, I’m ready to move on and let the chips fall where they may. God has this whole thing under control and I just need to rest in it while still voting my conscience.

I admit that I am truly grieved regarding this election. The issues are so crucial to our survival, but I just have to remember that God is sovereign. I pray that I will rest in the promise that His will is accomplished, and that will be revealed in the election results. I will praise Him if my candidate wins, I will praise Him if my candidate loses. His will and not mine. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  8. The president used the phrase “Global financial crisis”. It almost sounds like an opportunity for a charismatic leader, full of hope and change, to lead us into a one world system of government.

You would think that if this was going to happen on earth one day, God would have mentioned it in the Bible…

  9. Arthur,

After this last week of sowing hate, lies and deception in their followers from the McCain/Palin camp I almost feel complelled to put my vote in for Obama. I have closely watched CNN, MSNBC and FOX and am more convinced than ever that FOX is the worst of them all.

How can anyone still support McCain after this week? He even had to backtrack after realizing stragtegy of negativity and lies were more damaging than helping. As I stated earlier, McCain/Palin support federal funding of embryonic stem cell research according to the fliers and they are the same on Gay rights according to the Palin/Biden debate. Two pillars of the christian right virtually the same. Third Party folks this is the year.

  10. I work in banking here in the metro area, and there is plenty of blame to go around. Banks pushing for short-term gain at the expense of long-term stability. Government intervention seeking to get people into homes that they haad no business buying. Consumers, yes consumers, buying way more house than they could afford and then sucking every nickle of equity out of them like giant piggy banks.

What is outrageous is the way that Dems are getting off Scot free even though they have controlled congress in recent years. Chris Dodd? Chuck Schumer? Barney Frank? Even the Messiah, Barack Obama, took money from Fannie and Freddie? I am aghast at the idea! That must just be more Fox News right-wing bias showing through!

Unfortunately, the media is so in the tank for Obama that the truth of his and others Dems complicity in this mess has been thoroughly hidden. A state trooper in Alaska who used a taser on a kid gets rightly fired? All over the news! The Anointed One shown to be nothing more than a Chicago Democrat, with shaky credentials, outrageous associations and hands a lot dirtier than the media would have you believe? Nary a word.

Between the fraudulent voters rounded up by Obama’s henchmen at ACORN and the non-stop glowing coverage of Obama, coupled with a gross selfishness on the part of Americans, you can put this election to bed. Obama is going to win going away and his cronies in the Congress are already planning on multi-billion dollar income redistribution plans. Wait until the same people who ran Fannie Mae aand Freddie Mac start running private banks and bailing out consumers, companies and even states.
