Run, Howard, Run

The former CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, seems to be testing the waters for a possible presidential run in 2020. See here and here.

I hope he returns to the Republican party and seeks the Republican nomination for President in 2020.

But if he runs as a Democrat, I may have to take back everything I have ever said about never, ever voting for a Democrat.

But the vetting process hasn’t even begun yet.

Who is Howard Schultz? I’m anxious to find out. Random House has my interview request.

  1. Personally, I can’t imagine Howard making any effort to run as a Republican candidate, since he seems strongly opposed to many of the positions which Republicans hold dear. For example, he’s been unapologetic and rather aggressive in pouring money (from Starbucks) into support for “gay marriage”, and famously offered a rather condescending reply at a shareholder’s meeting when asked about the growing concern some Starbucks investors have regarding the use of Starbucks profits to promote the gay agenda (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaCfvr9EFKs).

Furthermore, it seems that he’s supportive of abortion, which in the hearts and minds of many Republicans (including me) disqualifies him as a potential candidate for the Republican party. I’m a bit curious as to what made you think he might even be interested in representing the Republican party, but nonetheless, I don’t see how that could possibly happen anytime soon. I hope we ultimately have a better candidate than Howard Schultz (or Donald Trump) to vote for.
