Joel Osteen’s Tragic Ignorance of the Gospel

Joel Osteen has made yet another television talk show appearance in which he displays his tragic ignorance of the Gospel, this time on Oprah Winfrey’s new talk show on her OWN Network, Oprah’s Next Chapter. Paul responded to what Osteen said to Oprah about God and Homosexuality:

  1. Christians are forgetting the commission of Christ which says go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature…. now this is a clear order from our LORD,, but people value their social status more than the word of GOD that they feel timid to stand up and proclaim the one true Gospel of Christ to them that are dying and that is a sin. now this is what i want Osteen and any other preacher to know…. be careful about nothing when speaking the gospel, don’t try to sound kind or modest or try to please “CERTAIN PEOPLE” by telling them what they want to hear and be not ashamed or u will end up speaking the wisdom of this world which is foolishness to God . remember Paul said i am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation…..give the world what they need and not what they want……the world needs Christ
Joel Osteen God loves u ..just open up to the knowledge and wisdom of our LORD JESUS CHRIST

  2. Paul,

Joe Osteen is very calculated in almost everything he says. He was on Oprah! He has had numerous opportunities on Larry King, Oprah etc. to straighten out his errors over the years. He has not done so because he would lose half his crowd and never be asked back on those national programs.

    To Andrew,

Just because you tell the TRUTH about anyones PUBLIC pronouncements does NOT mean that you hate them! Truth believers do NOT hate anyone. And yes . . . I would rather he not speak at all . . . if he can’t tell the TRUTH. By the way, he is so far off and alot of issues!!

  3. I wonder why Oprah never has a Muslim on her show and ask them about multiple ways to God and whether or not homosexuality is a sin.

  4. I am not a fan of Joel Osteen’s preaching. I agree with you that I think he has good intentions. It is sad, because he does seem to be a nice fellow (from TV interviews and from everything I have heard). To paraphrase Rich Mullins, he’s not bad, he’s just wrong. In the love of Christ, I hope he can allow the Holy Spirit to work in these areas of his life, so that he can figure it out.
