Alistair Begg

Alistair Begg

Alistair Begg has been in pastoral ministry for 32 years. Following graduation from The London School of Theology he served eight years in Scotland at both Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh and Hamilton Baptist Church. Since 1983, he has been the senior pastor at Parkside Church near Cleveland, Ohio.  He has written several books and is heard daily and weekly on the radio program, Truth For Life.  The teaching on Truth For Life stems from the week by week Bible teaching at Parkside Church. He and his wife, Susan, have been married 32 years and they have three grown children.

Parkside Church is a non-denominational body of believers located in a southeast suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. The mission of Parkside Church is to see unbelieving people become committed followers of Jesus Christ. Psalm 138:2 says "…for you have exalted above all things your name and your word," as a result the Word of God is central at both the church and on Truth For Life.

Parkside Church had its origins in 1968 when a small group of businessmen came together for weekly prayer meetings on Cleveland's east side. Attendance grew, along with a conviction to consider the formation of a local church.

Parkside Church, originally known as the Chapel, formally became a church in 1972.

The church continued to grow and in 1983 after the original pastor was called to the mission field and interim pastors filled the role for three years, Alistair Begg accepted the call to be the senior pastor and arrived with his wife and children from Scotland.

Voddie Baucham, Jr.

Voddie Baucham

Voddie Baucham is a pastor, professor, author, conference speaker and church planter.  He is one of the most sought-after Bible teachers of his generation.  He is as comfortable leading a bible study in his home with two or three families as he is preaching before thousands, or lecturing on college campuses.

Known as one of the ‘architects’ of the contemporary Family Integrated Church movement, Dr. Baucham is frequently sought out by pastors, professors and church planters working to understand the FIC phenomenon.  His book, Family Driven Faith has helped shape the contemporary discussion about family discipleship and family integrated ministry.

He and his wife, Bridget have been married since 1989.  They are avid readers, avid travelers, and avid food connoisseurs.  They have four children, Jasmine, Trey, Elijah and Asher.  Unable to have more children after Jasmine and Trey, Voddie and Bridget began to pursue the expansion of their family through adoption.  They adopted Elijah in 2004, and Asher in 2007.  They hope to adopt several more children in the coming years.  The Bauchams have been committed home educators since 1999.

Gospel Singer/Songwriter Dottie Rambo dies in bus accident

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (AP) — Joyce "Dottie" Rambo, an influential gospel singer and songwriter, died early Sunday when her tour bus ran off the highway and struck an embankment. She was 74.

Seven other people on the bus were injured in the wreck about two miles east of Mount Vernon on Interstate 44, the Missouri Highway Patrol said. They were hospitalized in Springfield with moderate to severe injuries, according to the patrol.

It was unclear whether the crash was related to the severe storms and tornadoes that hit the region on Saturday. Storms also swept through the area later in the night, according to the National Weather Service.

Rambo, of Nashville, Tenn., was on her way to a Mother's Day performance in Texas, according to her Web site.

"She was a giant in the gospel music industry," said Beckie Simmons, Rambo's agent. "Dolly Parton recorded some of her songs."

Parton sent condolences to "everyone involved in this terrible tragedy."

"I know Dottie is in heaven in the arms of God right now, but our earth angel will surely be missed," Parton said in a statement. "Dottie was a dear friend, a fellow singer, songwriter and entertainer, and as of late my duet singing partner."

Rambo was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame last year and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

Rambo has had more than 2,500 published songs, including gospel classics such as "He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need" and the 1982 Gospel Music Association Song of the Year, "We Shall Behold Him."
